Section 168 states that if a person who is not a resident of India dies, leaving behind any assets in India, then their legal representative in India will be liable for any tax payable on those assets.

Section 169 deals with the liability of partners of a firm in case of dissolution or reconstitution of the firm. The partners will be jointly and severally liable for any tax payable by the firm for the period up to the date of dissolution or reconstitution.
