The Rat Race

preview_player
Показать описание
This Wojak meme video is about the rat race. We follow doomer through his average day as a wagie trapped in the coorporate world. The rat race is an endless, self-defeating, or pointless pursuit. The phrase equates humans to rats attempting to earn a reward such as cheese, in vain. It may also refer to a competitive struggle to get ahead financially or routinely.

The days are long, but the years are short.

Time flies by when nothing happens. When you ask yourself where the last 10 years went, this is a reminder.

I graduated two years ago, and since then, I've been working. I only had 15 vacation days during that time, and at one point, I really felt trapped. My mood deteriorated day by day. While the pay was good, my motivation plummeted to zero. In the past few weeks, I’ve been calculating how much money I need to save in order to take a break from work. I found myself doing this every single day as I walked into the office. Last week, my boss informed me that my contract wouldn’t be renewed, and for the first time in two years, I feel like I can breathe again.

What kind of life is it to work eight hours a day, only to be too exhausted to do anything else and feel no sense of purpose? The entire system is disgusting. The cost of living keeps artificially rising, making us even more dependent on our jobs. We need to break free from this slave system.

I'm a remote wagie. People always say "I wouldn't want to do that, I'd get bored at home" ..bullshit it's the best.

Love these. There's a subtle art to them unlike so many others who have tried this format. Also, love the attention to detail with the backgrounds. That burger price is too real.

He has his own office where he is alone without presence of any NPC colleagues? What a lucky guy, damn!

I've often said that society would revolt if all of your debts were garnished from your wages before you got them. It's that temporary sigh of relief seeing those two line items per month in the credit column of your account, and the associated opportunity to waste it, that keeps this economic house of cards together.

Quit this life recently, grinding 8+ hours a day in some pointless soul destroying office job...took up landscaping instead to get outdoors more and be physically active throughout the day

The biggest problem is that people watching useless short videos in their only spare time. There is no value. The moment you watch the next one, you already forget the last

When I realized all the corporate trap a few years ago, I dedicated all my efforts on built the life I want a not the career companies wants. Today I live at the caribbean in mexico, I live a gew blocks away from the beach, and got a boring job with no boss, where I got paid to just sit on a desk 8 hours on a 5 diamond resort doing nothing but wherever I want. My lesson is that climb up the professional ladder doesn ´ t mean anything, what matters is what you do with your lifetime.

I moved out of America away from my 120k engineer job in 2016 to be a part time bartender in st Thomas. Best decision of my life. The 1st time in my life I have real friends and time to surf.
My biggest regret is I wish I did this earlier when I was 35 instead of 47.
