Fischer didn't miss g3 trapping the bishop, he miscalculated the ensuing ending. There was a move down the line that Fischer missed in his calculations and Spasky found. The reason why Fischer played Bxh2 was that he thought it would work, just like in the game Lihtenhein - Morphy, where Morphy's opponent trapped Morphy's bishop in a similar fashion, only to lose the game.

To me being able to recover from a slip-up like this is a testament to what a beast Fischer was at the time mentally.

Bobby Fischer’s computer game and a wonderful man named Felix Lopez taught me chess 20 years ago. I will never put into words how much I appreciate the love and passion some men had for this game back then during my childhood. Started when I was 6 years old and chess has taught me so much about life, anticipation, logical process. Forever my 🐐 fr

U missed the part where Fischer threw a huge tantrum after nearly giving away the tournament to Spasky, and then Spasky later agreed to all the ridiculous conditions of Fischer (like no cameras and media allowed) to start the match all over again.

Why are you using images of the actors that played Fisher and Spasky in a movie and not images of the actual players? It's not as if there is no film of the match??

Ok this is unfair to him. He was trying to force an attack by creating an asymmetry in the position.
