Eligibility Criteria for Engineering Admission 2024
1. **Nationality**: Candidates must be Indian nationals.
2. **Educational Qualification**:
- Candidates must have passed the HSC (12th standard) or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical/Vocational subjects.
- Candidates should have obtained at least 50% marks (45% for reserved category candidates and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together.
3. **MHT-CET Score**:
- Candidates must have a valid score in MHT-CET 2024. Alternatively, JEE Main scores are also accepted for admissions.
### Grouping Criteria for HSC (12th Standard)
For HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) grouping criteria, subjects are typically categorized into different groups. For engineering admissions, the focus is mainly on the following groups:
1. **Group I (Compulsory Subjects)**:
- **Physics**
- **Mathematics**
2. **Group II (Optional Subjects)**: Candidates need to choose one from the following:
- **Chemistry**
- **Biotechnology**
- **Biology**
- **Technical/Vocational Subjects**
Candidates must ensure they have studied and passed the compulsory subjects (Physics and Mathematics) and one of the optional subjects listed in Group II. Meeting the minimum percentage criteria in these subjects is crucial for eligibility.
### Additional Criteria
- **Domicile Requirement**: Candidates must fulfill the domicile requirements of Maharashtra State.
- **Age Limit**: There is no specific age limit for engineering admissions through MHT-CET.
- **Qualifying Examination**: Candidates appearing for the final examination of HSC or equivalent are also eligible to apply, provided they meet the above criteria at the time of admission.
Ensure you meet all these eligibility requirements and have the necessary documents ready for a smooth admission process into engineering colleges in Maharashtra through MHT-CET 2024.
