We are going through an agency domain, same team, same clients, same files. I just don't want to lose any data, file ownership, etc. It's just a new company name, email, etc. Can you give some advice to make It a single workspace so the drive and drive ownership stays the same for a smooth continued workflow? We also have a new website coming on the new domain, do I still copy over the old site if I have a new site popping up?

1) will setting a new primary domain impact calendar? I.e. will the old calendar entries still be in there? 2) what if we set the original primary domain as new alias, will this solve the google sign-on issues on 3rd party platforms like Asana and Slack?

Don't forget also if changing the primary domain to a new domain that if you have chrome devices enrolled in your current domain. Those devices will have to be wiped and reenrolled Additionally you may loose the licenses so it is best to talk to Google before making any changes. We had 4000 chromebooks to do one summer because we went to a new domain. Like sites you may also have to deal forms you have created when you go to a new domain.

Hey itGenius! hoping you can help me out here... I purchased 2 domains through Google and simultaneously signed up for Workspace with one of them. I've since decided that I want my primary Workspace domain to be the OTHER one. Unfortunately, you can't change the primary domain when you've purchased Workspace along with it. Any ideas for a workaround?

I signed up for a Google Apps (now called legacy Gsuite) like 15 years ago when it was free. I just dont use the primary domain (as you mentioned, at that time you were locked into the original domain). There is no data in the primary domain and only 1 user which was the admin. I assume I can just push the button since everything is in my secondary domain? To be clear, my primary has no email. I dont think the secondary domain gets an alias moving to the primary, is that correct? Just making sure there arent any risks I dont understand. Thanks for the video.

before switching primary domains, is it important that the spf records are set up correctly on both domains? Or is it the new primary domain your talking about? MX checker gives some errors on both of mine but Iv been using gmail for years with no problems.

Thank you for the helpful advice. I am wondering if the google workspace primary domain has been changed(the original one will be kept as alias), what do we do with all the apps that were "signed in with google"? will they still work? should we ask every employees to go to profile for each service(e.g. slack, notion, zapier) to change their email to the new domain ?

Thanks for the great video!
Do you know how it works to replace an alias domain with a secondary domain (that already has several email addresses)? Will I lose any data if I add a new domain as secondary domain?

Greetings from New York City! Nice presentation. I am in a tough spot. I THINK its a simple fix? But I came up against a roadblock and stuck. My entire Google account & YouTube business are built on a domain I no longer have access to. BUT I do have access to email address (G-suite). I can log in and send emails, but it does not receive emails. So my MX records need updating? Unfortunately the hosting? ….company is DynaDot. They will not help me log in. I don’t have the log in information. Maybe the domain was resold so someone else owns it? I have no idea. Could I pay one of your fine staff members to save my business I built? I am a solo-preneur. I don’t care about losing emails etc. I just need to somehow change or alias? My main google email account. Buckets of gratitude! TED NEMETH

Help, Lost at sea, , , i got a google domain, registered the business as an S-corp with the state (financial commitment!), signed up for workspace, got custom email. lost access to the email as Google one found i had a block in my email on google, so i did Not receive a confirmation email and was shut out. support circus shows i still have the email and trying all manner of sign ins fails to get me in. support will only say it is an active email. the problem is, i just want to abandon email and get a new one, but when i try to sign in to workspace and get new email it says i have an account (i don't or no longer do as it doesn't show I have paid for one ) and it sends me into the google, admin etc sign in loop over and over. workspace support sends me to domain support and vice versa. and the buttons they suggest to push are not on pages as they say they are ??
google one is no help thoughts ?
