Pests, Diseases and Plant Health

Recently nominated Champion for the International Year of Plant Health in Europe by FAO Director-General, Diarmuid Gavin addresses the importance of protecting plants, our planet's main source of food. He calls on the public to avoid travelling with seeds, flowers, fruit, or vegetables where pests could be hiding. He also shares information on digital solutions and standards promoted by the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) that can help to ensure safer trade of plant products. Irish garden designer Diarmuid Gavin has written 13 garden design books and, in addition to presenting gardening series on all UK and Irish TV channels, has appeared in popular tele-reality shows including BBC's Strictly Come Dancing.
