How to replace the gearshifter light bulb on Suzuki SX4.

I could not swap the red piece. It will be just white light. Better then nothing.
Не получилось перекинуть красный кожух. Будет белым светить. Лучше чем ничего.

Огромное спасибо за видео! ❤ В сервисе менеджер сказал, что работа будет стоить минимум 1000₽, всё зависит от сложности разбора, скорее всего дороже ( хотя я сразу назвала модель автомобиля). Конечно, в 3 минуты, как на видео я не уложилась😅. Минут 20 занял разбор ( всё таки занималась этим впервые), минут 10 поход в ближайший автомагазин за лампочкой ( взяла перегоревшую как образец), минут 5 сборка. Ремонт обошёлся в 70₽ и 35 минут личного времени 😂

I managed to remove the red cap from the old bulb. First heated it a little with a hair dryer. Carefully inserted a very thin needle between the bulb and the cap and moved the needle around the bulb to unstick the red cap. Then it came out easily. I will, however, put the new bulb without the cap, I think white light looks nicer (my dashboard lights are white as well)

Very common bulb available any auto parts or online 1.2 w then, if you want to make it red or any other color you so desire my girlfriend likes hot pink, go to any hardware store and get a small roll of translucent tape and tape it to the underside of the shift positions. One thing nice about Suzuki is you can take the whole car apart with a putty knife.

Get a nail polish from a local cosmetic store, or from the super market and using a small brush paint the bulb with one extra thin layer.

Shame the new bulb didn't come with the red filter as it's obviously not really designed to be transferred from the old one. Perhaps an LED replacement in red would have been beneficial - you could make one yourself using the old bulb, a red LED and a 500 - 600 ohm resistor (1/4 Watt should be okay). Just solder the resistor to the long leg of the LED (that's the anode (positive)) then you can either solder or fold and insert both ends into the bulb holder. Insert the holder and test. If the LED doesn't illuminate then remove and reinsert 180° rotated (so the connections are swapped) or if you have a multimeter then just check which way round the supply is and install accordingly. You can vary the resistor value to adjust the brightness of the LED (higher resistance makes it dimmer) but don't drop it too low or you'll fry the LED!
