Incorrect. Baki had already gotten poisoned during season 1 or season 2. When he entered the raitei tournament and fought the poison guy, instead of poisoning him even more, it cancelled eachother out. What Baki got to drink later was just "revive" his muscles again, etc

If you put way less sugar and nearly equal ammounts salt, you can drink 2 liters of water and it feels great, but it's risky if you are not actually in need or if you drink too fast.

It wasn’t the sugar that healed the poison it was the amount of blood he lost in the fight the sugar water was just for nutrition sake. It’s been a bit since I watched Bali but that’s what I remember

It's mainly a miss translation in the sub and dub the point of bakis recovery was that he had firstly been poisoned with an ancient style of poison hand leading to his near death but was again poisoned by another ancient poisoned hand user that was using the same technique but with the opposite side of the "poison spectrum" not sure what it really means but they essentially counter acted in addition to him having his passion for his girlfriend and fighting resolve he partly used his willpower to also overcome the poison the sugar water was just to rehabilitate baki not cure him

i mean if it makes you throw up all that poison then it should work (note would only work with poison you've ingested, venom from a bite for example would stay in your blood)
