CAMBRIDGE AUDIO MELOMANIA 1 REVIEW.

I recently received the Cambridge Melomania true wireless ear buds. I had very high hopes for these! Unfortunately, they didn't live up to their much hyped status and i'll explain why in the video.

My experience was very similar even swapping out all the accessory tips in their adjunct kit. What finally transformed them was raiding my spare tip cache for the largest JVC Gumy silicones. WOW! The seal is absolutely critical.

Yeah the bass is very prominent and extends pretty low too but ONLY with a lot of trial and error.
For me, none of the silicone tips sounded right and in fact, I was thinking I was going to send them back but just then, I spotted the mem foam tips. The bigger ones of the two were it. Once I put those in and yeah they do need to push in with a slight twist. My.. the sound was phenomenal!
I can see why some would struggle though and ear shapes do vary enormously, so maybe not for everyone.

I'm watching some reviews after receiving these as a gift. I was using £20 wireless headphones for the gym before these ones. My gripe with them is much the same, the design of the headphones don't sit well in my ears and I can feel them sliding out while sitting at my desk. Gyms are shut right now but I'm doubtful that these will be my go to earphones for on the go headphones and at home I have studio proper headphones.

Like what everyone else has said, the key is a good fit and seal. It makes a REALLY big difference. When I am not using my wired headphones ( Master & Dynamic MH40 with Fiio M11 and Fiio E 12 Amp), the Melomania's through just the DAP is still more then fine. I am using the foam tips ( Comply 600) and the soundstage and depth is pretty wide, detail sounds are almost neutral and find them as a great alternative to wired headphones.
Plus at this price point for $99, compared to other true wireless buds, if they fit you right, you wont be disappointed.

The memory foam tips were the only ones that worked for me. Then they sounded brilliant. I get around 9 hours too, but i tend to have the volume higher on the phone and lower on the buds.

I had these experience when I bought a pair of Klang, the review were excellent but I don't find any reason for the price, luckily Jabra elite active 65t suit me, that's a year ago

You would get the right bass if you fit in larger foams

you try the memory form end cap because this this only with this end cap this melomania 1 have an incredbible song(sorry for my english i am not english )

and for all people he have song problem, you seriously need to try to use this end cap

My problem with them is how easily they had interference out in public. They constantly disconnect all the time for me. Even in my house when I connected them to my pc I had occasional dips in audio. Completely unusable in public. The only remedy was taking them in and out of the case or going through my phone options to pair... Every. Two. Minutes. Or less.

You could try Comply tips for a better seal.

I've had no problems with bass but like you say some people cant pick it up as much as others.

Agree about bass...the only earphones I have found with acceptable bass response are the Nuraloops

I bought these and right away had a issue with them slipping out my ear. Eventually while out running one popped out never to be seen again. I tried to buy a replacement but was told I would have to buy a set
Needless to say never bothered
I went out and bought a cheap pair and had no issues

What a shame you sent the Melo 1's back. 😔 The key to them is to get good fitting tips. Larger ear canals need memory foam ones. Fortunately the silicone ones supplied fit my ears well. I've just rocked out with the Melomania 1's having bought them today. They were absolutely incredible for me. Best value around imo now as they're reduced in the UK.

I just bought it. Unimpressive, why people are calling it audiophile. Far from it. I compared this to my FILL and FIIO ones, and it's a few steps muddier, softer, and lacks power. All I've to say is, my Melomania purchase was disappointing. I thought it would be an upgrade but it's a downgrade and a hundred bux poorer.
