I bought 5 of the srb 400-sub for Christmas gifts. I chose them over the 1200 because they have the single fire option and you can buy more accessories for it because the sight and scope isn't built in. The lights on the 1200 look cool, but you're so easily spotted.

You don’t load them wet. That bucket has a draining system.

Was the surge on high power mode? If you take the fins off there’s a switch at the front. You can change how hard it fires by adjusting the switch.

The Gel Blaster Surge says it does 100ft but it is more like 50ft. The Splatrball probably does 70ft in range.
