Those the custom D'Addario strings meant for the guitar? Because ironically I've had the same problem now twice. And I LITERALLY have only broke one string since I was like 16 (I'm now 32) but lately I've had 2 of these snap, one time on a full step bend around the 12th fret (pretty ridiculous.) I've also had issue lately with their packaging, for the life of me I don’t know why they don't just do it like Ernie Ball (strings in envelopes, they could even put them all in one then the outer package made of a material that can be sealed) instead they do the opposite (strings in a plastic bag and the outer package made a cardboard) & as a result, every new pack of strings I've got from Sweetwater lately has had wholes punched in the "element shield" from the strings ends poking them (DUHH) and then some rust/corrosion spots on the brand new strings. Literally ALL they'd need to do to solve this huge problem, is switch the packing around. Strings don't poke holes through paper envelopes. Then put the element shield on the outside of the package, or seal the whole thing like slinky's are. This seems pretty obvious to me, especially for a company who's claim to fame is slower erosion & longer lasting strings. Doesn't matter how good they are if when you get them they're already trashed. Seriously, perfect looking boxes every time, and still every time multiple holes in the so called "element shield." If they'd solve this they'd easily be the kings of strings but this one issue has me looking elsewhere.
