Thanks Adam. It seems like an overly complicated way to update, but I'm not familiar with other OTA systems of, say, Tesla et al. And hey, the email from Fisker about the $7, 500 price drop is encouraging.

Here is a good one for you:

Potential Canadian buyers have never had the opportunity to turn any reservation into an order except for Ones/Extremes. The prices had been shared for over a year on all models with we Canadians. Today Fisker announced that prices will go up as of Nov 6th for both the Ultra and Sport (down for the Extreme) and suggested that we should lock our order in before then to secure the better rate.

We still have no ability to convert our Ultra and Sport reservations into purchases.
We now have 12 days left to convert the reservation into a sale with no ability to do so on the app/web-page.

They have been advertising a lower price that we can never secure. It is almost as if they are committing false advertising via a bait and switch. To make it worse, all three Radgivers I talked with today have offered up completely different information from; "Sales will open up on Nov 6th at the new price.", "Sales are opened now at the lower price." (they are not) and "Sales will open up by the end of the year." (with no mention of price). Go figure!

I have 3.5 years of experience with the Land Rover and BMW Mini’s OTA’s and a couple of observations that might be useful to Fisker owners
a) if it is possible, after the car has downloaded an OTA don’t install it until you get home in the evening and will be not using the car for the next 6-12 hours (JLR also claims only 45 minutes are needed to instal an OTA Update but I had several failures and found that to be the best way to ensure the wouldn’t be distrurbed)
b) double/ deadlock your car otherwise the update won’t install
c) make sure that both the HV battery AND the 12v batteries are at a high state of charge
d) don’t get too worked up if the car takes several attempts to download an update - it will do the download while you are driving too and sometimes the the data signal gets dropped / blocked while driving around so the system has to then either start from scratch or try to pick up where it left off
e) if the Fisker way of sending out OTS updates is like JLR’s then they do it to batches of cars not to the entire fleet - my 2020 Defender was a low VIN number and got updates much sooner after updates were released than my 2023 gets them, which can be up to a month after the update is released.

It’s odd that Fisker hasn’t allowed downloading of OTA’s over WiFi - I have a much better home WiFi signal than 4G where I live and both my cars (a 2020 Defender up to last March, 2023 Defender and a Mini Cooper S E ) all download updates over WiFi much better than they do over 3 bars signal on data.

One thing that can be a bit confusing with the JLR updates is that there are 2 types of updates! One is the big ones for the car’s main systems and the others are for the infotainment and navigation map updates - when the 2nd type are received the car downloads them then installs them at the next ignition cycle unlike the big updates that only instal after you agree to them and the car is locked.

I have only once experienced an update not downloading fully and there is nothing you can do about it except take the car out for a decent run incase it was caused by a low 12v battery.

Hope that helps. When it works it’s great when it doesn’t it’s very frustrating!

What are "powertrain robustness improvements"?? As an engineer, that a very vague and non-technical description. It's as if Fisker just wanted to make some improvement sound super important and impressive.

My wife and I have a scheduled test drive at the "Fisker Seattle pop up" on 4th Nov., well it's more north of Seattle at Alderwood Mall/Lynwood, but since it's "companies vehicles" they should have the latest updates right?, I could give a little feedback/note in the comment track after we had the test drive and little talk with Fisker crew at the site?

You posted this 2 months ago, still waiting. I got 1/2 about 3 weeks ago. I never received the email you read on the video. I keep checking for the OTA to download, but it hasn't yet.
