In addition to splitting light waves, the 3M and Volteris solution maximizes energy efficiency in greenhouses through a concept known as agrivoltaics.

This practice combines agricultural production with solar energy generation in the same space, increasing farm sustainability.

Studies show that the use of integrated photovoltaic modules can reduce electricity costs by up to 20%, with no significant impact on agricultural production, especially with the use of blue and red light, which are essential for photosynthesis. 🌱🔆

The next step? Applying this technology to different types of crops and regions around the world, promoting more eco-friendly and profitable farming.

Why not just have the solar panels next to the greenhouse?

Loving it!... However in the video it's not clear how they plan to keep the target of the light coming through panel in the resulting light?...as the sun arches overhead?

What is the cost?
Both financial and physical to the food and the environment?

I had an idea a while back for greenhouses. What if you impregnated the glass/plastic with a substance that converted wavelengths in sunlight that are less usable by crop plants into a wavelength that IS usable? You theoretically produce more crops with less overall sunlight. By making better use of the energy that's already present.

3M and Volteris are an odd combination for this and both are clueless or rather sensless to be investing any time in to what is the weakest choice of the choices in solutions and technologies we have to improve food production with hydroponics
