The explanation was completely absurd. Yes, there was caste discrimination as it progressed. But there is a history beyond that. First of all there is no religion called Hindu. It's a culture known as Sanatana Dharma. Until the Arabs came to India, we never knew the word Hindu. They couldn't understand a culture without a religion. They called the culture Hindu, meaning, the people who lived near the river Sindhu. When the British invasion happened, they renamed the river Indus. The British made Hindu an official religion. We were a free community who accepted every kind of people and the Arabs (Mugals) invaded India and killed our ancestors who were not ready to accept Islam. They looted our temples. Then came the British. Before the British, there were, Portuguese and the Dutch invaded India, but they did very little harm to India when compared to the British. By that time the carter system changed completely. There were inequality and all sorts of violence against the lower caste. In Sanadhana Dharama, the farmers were respected even by the rulers as they were the highest tax payers. Anyone had the right to choose their path. But when it was made a religion, they instilled ego in us, thus so many inequalities. I can speak of my culture in its purest form forever, but hate to write. So I'm stopping here. I'll have to say this, Dhoomavati didn't commit suicide, when Shiva was killed by Kali. Once Kali killed her counterpart Shiva, she took the form of Dhoomavati and she cried out loud. But when she realised she can't be alive without Shiva, she became Kali again and recreated Shiva. To understand that story you'll need to read the Desha Mahavidya. I'm telling it a story because, my culture gives me the right to question anything and everything, the religion is too skeptical. I belong to my culture, not the religion. This culture goes back in time before any tectonic plate movements where, there were no separate land. If you have to understand this, read Mahabharat and 1 akshowhini will take a state in India, think of 1000s of ahshowhinis fighting.

Hinduism is lot more than what u guys heard from a foreign woman. Hinduism has science in it. Pls get info on the Vedas. Lord Vishnu and Brahma stories about multiverse theory, and lots more. The sati system that is where a woman commits suicide on her husband's pyre was mainly originated in the modern world i.e. after the 7th century because many Islamic forces would capture hindu kings wives and female servants and make them sex slaves after murdering their husbands and sons in the battlefield to avoid this queens, the helper ladies and other women would commit suicide in a large fireplace.

Caste system is essential part of Sanatan dharma or Hinduism.The British didn't introduced to India it was before 3000 years ago . Mahabharata said to written in 700 bc

Form of shakthi is a flame. She doesn't have beginning or end she is endless.

We see women as a form of shakthi.
Maatha ( Mother), Pithaa ( Father), Guru ( Teacher), Theaivam ( God). Mother is our 1st priority then God.
