Ford Focus: How to Open the Hood / Bonnet

How do you open the hood (bonnet) on a Ford Focus? This is how!

Thanks for posting this, I would have never worked it out myself! I was trying top to up the washer fluid to no avail, I googled 'open the bonnet of a Ford Focus' and this was the top result. :)

That is great. Wish my ford had that lock. Staying in south Africa., we all need that. If you park somewhere, you're battery or any other spares are gone, stolen out from under you're hood. They just smash you're window and then open the bonnet. Even when you're car is parked at night in you're own garage at home. Ford must install such locks on all cars sold in south Africa.

I TURN IT COUNTER CLOCK WISE THEN COUNTER CLOCK WISE LIKE YOU SAY BUT IT STILL WONT OPEN.

When i turn my key counter clockwise nothing happens, and i'm so scared of breaking the key.

The key mechanism is broken. Is there any other way to open it?

You've messed up a bit. It is counter clockwise, pop the hood, then return to middle then turn clock-wise...bingo.

Haha, atleast with the hood cable system, of anything breaks, you still can pull on the bracket to open the hood. Im not sure what you would do if the lock breaks on the Forcus hood, take a sledge hammer to it?!? :P

My god, you can't be serious. I literally spent 20 minutes trying to find the lever with my cousin. I suppose there is no lever

You quite clearly turn it clockwise the second time But you say counter clockwise
