This makes total sense to me. Instead of sending his daughters away to become Queens of other countries and having grandkids who he would never see. Instead, they stayed close to home, “married” local men, and Charlemagne could enjoy being around his grandchildren and extended family as much as he liked.

For those of you congratulating charlamagne on good dynasty choices. The reasons he did this is 1. The Frankish tradition of inheritance from father to sons, is that all of the father’s holdings, land, titles, wealth, etc. is split sometimes evenly sometimes not that evenly but almost evenly. So almost always Frankish kings when they die leave a fragmented kingdom, most of the time.
2. Charlamagne knew he had enough trouble on his hands with successions with his actual sons, he didn’t need some random noble who marries one of his daughters to get a big head thinking their branch should be at the head.

Honestly not a bad arrangement for his daughters, since it gave them an unusual amount of control over their lives for princesses, and they stayed in a court where they were guaranteed to be politically influential rather than running the risk of being sidelined at their husbands' courts.

he was quite fond of his daughters he also just didn't want to see them go when a daughter married she went to stay with her husband's family and very rarely if at all came home he did accept a marriage proposal for one of his daughters though it fell through because he didn't want to send his 12-year-old child to a foreign nation

It’s interesting that Charlemagne didn’t let his daughters marry because he wanted to prevent his realm from dividing, yet the biggest reason for the fall of the Carolingian Empire is that his son divided the realm evenly among his own sons. Sometimes I imagine what would have been different if Charlemagne instituted primogeniture early.
