2022 VW Taos | That's Cute Honey

We review the new 2022 VW Taos, an SUV with different names around the world. We are overtaken with options in this class, however with a $22,000 starting price, $28,000 as tested, this cute machine is a value. The question is would buyers choose it over the tough-as-nails Ford Escape, Toyota RAV4, Mazda CX-30, Honda CRV, Hyundai Tucson?

Hey, I really like the format where Mark starts off with the overview, Jack does the "in the shoppe" and you do the drive together. It feels very natural and I think is a unique dynamic when compared to other car reviewers.

Cheers!

Jack has a great cackle when surprised by the Goose.

The word Jack wanted when describing the interior is "austere". It's actually my favorite thing about VW design, it's simple and functional, almost clinical in execution.

Tired is when you wonder what VW Taco is.

Love the "Tank!" On the infotainment screen!

This channel is like a cult classic it won't be appreciated until it is in reruns. The attention to detail is just as important as the quirky sense of humor. I love the breakdown of the vehicle and seeing them on the lift.

Commenting for the algorithm. Also, I would never consider the VW Taos, but Mark and Jack are so damn good at what they do that a Geese video cannot be missed!

The title should have been:
" 2022 VW Taos | Honey, I Shrunk The Tiguan "

You guys and Throttle House are without a doubt my two favorite car channels for knowledgeable, unvarnished and entertaining reviews!

As an owner of a 2016 GTI with those same climate control knobs, I thought the same thing when I bought it. But, I can attest after five years of ownership, the knobs are solid. I’ve actually quite grown to like them. They’re precise they have a little click, and they just work. Just as good as the day when I bought the car. Just my two cents. Also, the ability to be in between different modes like floor or top vents is just the best. So much control. But that’s always been a VW thing. 🙂

I added a subwoofer to mine, it was a huge improvement. Added a throttle controller which minimized the turbo lag. A new catback and cold air intake. Yes i put some cash into it. But my SEL has more amenities and way fun to drive than any Japanese brand out there.

Everytime they go to the "shopee" it sounds like they liberated a outpost in far cry.

Why this channel hasn't reached 500k subs yet?

I can't believe Doug has 2 channels while doing childish reviews. Weird world.

Just want to reinforce how much I appreciate the audio quality testing.

I’d guess that a decent set of non-Pirelli/low-bid tires would address the “need” for AWD. Jeez, Mark, you’ve really swallowed the “active lifestyle” marketing BS—no 150hp FWD econobox “needs” AWD to operate adequately in the rain. If you’re keeping it past the end of the lease or warranty, you want the FWD’s Aisin transmission.

Yeah that delay to get moving is a deal breaker for me. I either have to add 20 minutes to my commute waiting for the road to clear 100% or risk getting t-boned or otherwise murdered in a road rage incident.

I've watched the explainer video on the audio testing several times but I still don't really know what I'm looking for. I just trust you when you say it's good or bad. I have IQ.light just like this vehicle.

Anyway I really don't like the blue on the interior but I'm glad some cars are still being built without a 32 inch flat screen on the dash.
