Bought one as soon as it came out in 2021 MY because frankly it was on par with the luxury brands and priced well PLUS has that 10/100k warranty. Zero issues 40k miles and LOVING IT. 6 different week long road trips with the suv running for 14hrs a day and zero issues. A beast! We will be looking to jump into another one again.

GREAT review, and a spectacular Ut!

Sad part is the newly re done 2025 interior is square, cheap “older bad Sonata vibe” and plebeian in comparison. 2024 is an ideal with easy console controller and posh luxury vibe.

And for the 100th time…as Genesis themselves have said and even other reviews mention…wireless CarPlay is a connection mess with degraded audio quality and lagging controls. Most who are used to CarPlay now know plugging in is key to best experience.

“Omg it’s wireless” is cute for 5 minutes until you notice your dying battery and are wondering why the audio isn’t as clear, and every input lags. Options matter here, and wired is always better.

Great video Steve! Literally the only thing stopping me from buying one of these now are the awful Hyundai dealers in my area. I hear a dedicated Genesis dealership is coming, but my fear is that the same dealers (and thus the same shady sales tactics) will simply be gussied up to appear up-market. What a shame. When I tried to work only through the concierge, they simply tossed me over to the dealership. Wish that experience was better thought out.

In the fall, I'm trading in my BMW X5 and getting a 2025 GV80 Prestige Signature. The GV80 looks gorgeous, should be more dependable than a new X5, and has the best warranty in the business.

Sadly, the more powerful engine in the GV80 Coupe isn't available in the standard GV80, which I think is a mistake.

Finally, Genesis needs to mount front license plates in a better spot, preferably below the front sensor array. Putting a license plate in the middle of that gorgeous front grille is a complete disaster.
