Ajoulottes - Folk tunes from Swiss Jura on nyckelharpa

Two ajoulottes, dances from Ajoie region in Jura canton, Switzerland. The melodies are very simple but have a specific rhythmical pattern which was a lot of fun to bow in different ways ! These tunes were collected by Jean Garneret and Charles Culot in the 1970s and I have them from the swiss band Au Gré des Vents.

This video is released for #WorldNyckelharpaDay on the 25th of april 2021. This year's theme was "play tunes from your native country on nyckelharpa".

I'm Emelie Waldken, I play mostly scandinavian folk music on fiddle & swedish nyckelharpa. I teach both instruments aswell as traditional dances. I play in various bands, solo and as a studio musician.

Recorded april 2021 in Uppland, Sweden.

Hi, im a Swiss Nyckelharpa Player, would Love to hear your version of the "Guggisberglied" 😍
And thank you, this inspires me to try some "Schwyzerörgeli" tunes that could fit the Nyckelharpa 😄

Wonderfully emotive with a lovely bright sounding melody that captivates me as a musician since you bestow it such musical life and your skill at keeping time is awing.

Tiens je les connaissais pas celles-là... avec Filigrane, on avait enregistré une ajoulotte recueillie à St Ursanne en 1893. la danse s'appelle aussi la longue ou la longe vers Montbéliard...
