Colorado should just continue to enforce their anti discrimination law and challenge those six justices to actually enforce their ruling. Every blue state should follow suit to ignore this fabrication. The supreme court, as they say, truly jumped the shark by ruling on an entirely fictitious matter.

The Senate, House and SCOTUS need term limits.

I wonder how long it will take before people use this exact ruling to refuse service to government officials?

On the legal side, courts, including the Supreme Court, cannot make a ruling unless they have a case before them. So the conservative justices created a hypothetical case so they could strip LGBTQ rights.

The conservative justices have made it much easier in recent years for litigants to invoke their religious beliefs as a ready path to disobey laws without consequence. You can evidently refuse to comply with all sorts of laws if you can devise some religious claim to justify your position . Odd the SC had to create a hypothetical case for their hateful ruling because there weren't any real cases or injured parties

"Mischief?" That's like calling the Chicago fire of 1871 a cookout.

The Extreme Court needs to be purged of bias.
These partisan, activist right wing pocket judges have to go.
The arrogance is staggering.

I came to prefer to think Democracy (not believers of "free speech", that ends up betraying the essence of Democracy) betrayors just want nobody contradicting them. Before, I thought they just didn't understand.

So, it is now legal to prequalify potential customers by inquiring through one question (party affiliation) if they are more likely to have a gun, obstruct justice, invent paranoid fantasies about you, threaten your retirement, endanger your public health, and disregard any opinion you have? Ironic.

do you think a businesses owner should have the right to refuse service to someone in a MAGA hat?

I still do not understand why SCOTUS and everyone are not recognizing the difference between an artist and an artisan. Artists create works based on self expression and on the speculation that someone will pay for the artwork. Artisans create works based on a client’s needs and directions. Artists are self-directed; artisans are directed by their clients. Artisan are providing a service, no matter how skilled they are, to a client for compensation. Those who provide a service based on a client’s needs and directions should not be allowed to discriminate. Website designers providing a service are artisans, not artists. Come on people; it’s not that hard…

The designer's expression here is their opinion of what is a good web design or not. That's it. That's the service being sold to a customer. Her free speech on display is only her opinion of what constitutes good web design worth charging for.

Her creating a website for any marriage is not a stamp of approval for the marriage.

The supreme court's ruling is wrong.

The plaintiff Lorie Smith should answer to her mischief, she's actually liable. They seem to have more baddies than they'll ever need on that side of the political spectrum. We really need to be vigilant especially in 2024 elections. They're getting creative alright.

I am in the UK. Something that people may be interested in was an incident during WW2 when the US military tried to impose their bigotry onto the British public and enforce segregation in our country. The local public houses (bars) turned their racism on it's head and posted notices declaring "Black Americans only welcome" and refused to serve white Americans. The white MPs fetched weapons and fired on black American troops. This firefight became known as "The Battle of Bamber Bridge". Can't wait to see what happens under this new ruling when a company refuses to offer service to a white Christian.

Gotta admit, these far-right wing sc judges are finally throwing down the towel on their position, there's no Diversity where they stand...unless you are blessing them with Livash gifts and round trip get away...WE NEED MORE TRANSPARENCY ON TRANSACTION TRADES...

I love the Court's assumption that bigotry is intrinsic to creativity 😱🤬 and that discrimination is intrinsic to freedom. This Court is corrosive to our democracy.

We need the legislature to create a law that requires SCOTUS to only hear cases with real people/injury.

let's see how Christians feels when THEY are denied service. i'm an atheist. i like what christians SHOULD stand for... i do NOT like what they ACTUALLY stand for. either way, it will be interesting to see how they feel, when THEY are the ones being denied.

So when a business states that they can refuse service to anyone. This is giving them the right to discriminate against certain people? I know in the town I live in which is very RED NECK, anyone who doesn't comply by their standards they make as miserable as they can. I have suffered under this issue in this town for 13 years.
