I completely understand it. When other people start getting more excited about you getting into college than you, it takes away the glimmer. It becomes an expectation, a "you now HAVE to do it bc everyone wants you to", a chore. No one likes being told what to do

Many people can get a job without a college degree, but it depends on what you want to do and how far you want to progress in your career. I have a coworker with no degree and 10+ years experience. I have a master's degree and 5 years experience. We are equals in our positions and make the same amount hourly. Because of my degree, I will be able to progress quicker than he will. There are pros and cons to college, so I would recommend finding what you love before making that decision.

This episode hit me hard.

I was always the smart girl, no matter what class I was in at the time. But, when I was about to enter college... I didn't feel any kind of emotion. It felt empty, useless. I questioned myself why I had wasted my childhood studying over and over, I grew up without friends, someone to really believe in, all because I wanted to continue being "Mom's pride". To this day I regret it, being intelligent didn't give me any other advantage than feeling empty and dissatisfied with myself.
