Hi everyone!
Welcome to this short video about Edinburgh's beautiful Princes Street Gardens.
When I studied in Edinburgh, I used to spend a lot of time in West Princes Street Gardens, especially during lunch time. Not only because it is very peaceful, but also because this is a great spot to witness the One O'Clock Gun Shot at Edinburgh Castle.

Princes Street Gardens are two neighboring parks in the centre of Edinburgh, lying in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle.
The gardens were created in the 1820s following the long draining of the Nor Loch and the building of New Town, beginning in the 1760s.
They are divided by The Mound, on which the National Gallery of Scotland and the Royal Scottish Academy buildings are located.

The most prominent monument in East Princes Street Gardens, is the Scott Monument, which was built in 1844 to honor Sir Walter Scott.

In West Princes Street Gardens, you can find some beautiful memorials, such as the 'Scottish-American War Memorial', the 'Mortonhall Baby Ashes Memorial', and 'Wojtek The Bear'. The focus of the western end of the gardens is the impressive 'Ross Fountain'. Personally, this is one of my favorite spots within the gardens, because of its charm and the view of Edinburgh Castle.

Beautiful and very interesting. I didn't know the meaning behind the statues and memorials, so it's nice to finally know what they stand for
