This is from the episode ‘not cancer’ if anyone is curious- okay so the actual context of the episode was that the architect lady had gotten the eye transplant a couple years before the episode takes place. She had gotten the eye from a donor, but what the episode was focusing on was that every person who had received a transplanted organ from that donor had died, each of completely different causes, and seemingly without warning. One had a heart attack, another had a stroke, one guys liver gave out, etc.
The reason that she said she saw the world as ‘ugly’ after her transplant, as well as the reason that all the organ recipients were dying, was because the donor had cancer in their stem cells, iirc. The cancerous cells hitched a ride on the transplanted organ, and then quickly disguised themselves elsewhere in the body. In apples case, the cells came in with her eye, then moved to her visual cortex in her brain, causing the ‘ugliness.’ She could see, but she still couldn’t see properly. She just didn’t know because she had always been blind.

For anyone who hates this writing, know that after she gets better, House asks her how he looks and she says "Sad." You're welcome.

I adore Felicia, she's literally my favorite guest actor in supernatural because Charlie is just amazing

The Dodger laugh at the end makes this perfect.

Talk about breaking the fourth wall. I loved her on Eureka, Dr. Horrible, and of course in Fallout New Vegas!

The thing about that episode, the eyes she got from the transplant were bad so she quite literally saw the world uglier than it actually was. By the end of the episode she gets her eyes fixed and she sees everything the way it is.

Thanks for ending this with Dodgers insane cackle

I JUST saw a clip from this episode where she lies to some old lady to try and get her to consent to a risky biopsy or something for her husband in order to help diagnose whatever is wrong with her. I have no more context, but damn that's cold.

Seeing the world as ugly should fuel an architect to create even more beautiful buildings to make a difference, not completely give up

If the Showrunner can't explain in detail why things are occuring, THEY'RE THE PROBLEM 😂😂

They needed the guest star to be patient of the week to be excessively and usually unrealistically pretentious and stubborn about something so House can verbally knock them down a peg, giving the fans who obviously side with House as he verbally takes down an exaggerated caricature of a person, so they then feel vindication and intellectual superiority by proxy... not an uncommon tactic in writing, especially on tv

The intro for that episode was awesome! It was like a scene from Death Note

How the hell can you be a blind architect? They can't even let you enlist even if you color blind

So, basically, being unable to see, her mind filled in the blanks. Kind of like how a story seems exciting until you read the ending and realize that the ending you thought of in your head fits way better than reality.

So when she finally saw everything she already had preconceived notions of how everything was and her eyeballs weren't telling her a story anywhere near as fascinating as her mind's eye?

Felicia ain't just a guest star!!!

House was amazing. The point was the eye was defective and she wasnt seeing the world the way it actually was...she was seeing a dulled version of it. So when it gets fixed she thinks the world is beautiful again.
