Think Draper will also be a long term player as well as ready to play now. It's him or Langford for me, but I won't be disappointed if it is Jagga Smith. Agresta mentioned he has also played VFL and hasn't played a bad game so far. He sounds really consistent which we also need, 10 to 15 years of consistent good games sounds great to me. I trust their decision whoever they pick. It is an exciting time for our club, especially with the Camporeale boys coming in and Cody Walker in their sights. Granger Barrass also a good player who is a possibility. Go Blues.

Smith is an extractor, we have that type, need a silkier distributor and ball carrier to compliment what we have. Draper is the better bet and if I was wanting to develop the next Cripps or Bontempelli big mid for the future then I would pick Langford.

Just remember that drafting a kid in the top 5 will be a long term player, especially this lot of kids..
so we NEED something for the now as we’re very slow and the club knows this. Just make sure you get a kid that CAN play straight away, otherwise we wouldn’t have traded up to 3 🤷🏻‍♂️ so read into Agresta how ever you like but rest assured they’re trying to get a kid for the now also 😉✌🏼

When I started looking at the players for the draft (more than a month past) I had Jagga as my selection but drifted to Langford. I still think Langford but I would not be disappointed with either Langford, Jagga - NOT MiCK tho - or Draper.

I was always jealous of teams like Geelong and Sydney Swans always in the mix come finals, Their team and player management is one that I always hoped that Carlton fc could master as well. My spidey senses indicated that Jagga will be our man. The commentary as shown in your vid only firms my view on this. Do I think Jagga is ideal for here and now? No. Do I think he would be considered a 10-15 year player who never plays a bad game? Yes.

This is a draft we will look back on with hindsight and have a laugh or a cry. I think we’ll have a big time player but we’ll always be left wondering if we picked another guy who went pick 4 5 or 6.
It will be interesting to see if our picks at 12 and 14 would have been useful but we’ll have to wait 8 years to find out.

It's always a good debate. It appears most recruiters believe this is a super draft and as Agresta mentioned, this is about sustaining success. All good teams have stars. Whoever we recruit will be a class player and potential star. If we do achieve Geelong type success then, there will always be out of contract/free agents class players looking join our club. But as Richmond, WC and us have shown, if you bottom out you are stuffed for ten years minimum
