Learn how to easily sew and customize a simple kitchen boa pattern and then decorate it with sublimation or Infusible Ink! Crafts can be more than cute, they can be functional! This kitchen boa pattern is the perfect example. The scarf keeps handy towels at easy access and looks nicer than a rag over the shoulder. With some simple sewing and sublimation steps, you can make a kitchen scarf, the perfect gift for your favorite chef -- especially if that's YOU! We'll cover both Infusible Ink and printed sublimation designs, so you can pick the technique you prefer. I'll share free files for both! * Heat Press like an EasyPress and Pressing Mat or an Autopress -
* Fan - to help disperse sublimation fumes

If you'd like to use Infusible Ink transfer sheets, you'll need:

This project was my most requested “after Christmas “ gift last year. I had made gift baskets that had the oven mitts, pot holders, napkins & matching placemats with the star of the basket being the “hand towel boa”. Your project just took it over the top, that is for sure!

Can't wait to give this a try! It's awesome to be able to personalize a gift! Especially since you can pick out your favorite fabric and be able to sublimate on the towels! Thank you!

I liked y.our technique for attaching the towel. My friends and neighbors are now asking me for me "new" BOA, I call it
the Napkin BOA. Great for Seniors or folks in rehab centers. I cut the fabric 32", The towels remains the same. Great for wiping off hands and especially the face. My neighbor now wants one for her disabled grandchild. A friend in Arizona wants several for her son-in-law who is always spilling food & drink on himself. She tried one of these and said it worked great and her daughter was able to keep his face cleaned up. fd

My friend introduced them to me last summer. I found that the part that goes around your neck needed to be about half as thin, it gets hot around the neck. I love it in the yard also, wipe that sweat away, lol.

I LOVE these! I am always throwing a towel over my shoulder when I am baking so I have one handy. The problem is the towel can fall off my shoulder and often does. So then I have to get a clean towel! Frustrating. This is amazing fix. I am making a few with my favorite thing and the theme of my kitchen, COFFEE! LOL. I bet I will be making these for gifts as well. Thanks for sharing!

I don't have any of the press machines. Can you use a regular iron?

Really Like! But where did video show how you finish off the two towel ends seams?

Nice. Why do you want the fabric to be only cotton? Wouldn't a Cotton/poly be ok too. I just want something that would look nice after washing and not need ironing. The orange one with the bees is my favorite. My name is Carolyn too - birthday coming up. 🙂Thank You.

I used a black kitchen towel and white vinyl for my design but When pressed the white vinyl turns almost see thru :( What can it be? I've seen people using black towels with white vinyl and that never happens.
