Having been a classical musician for a number of years, i can say that metal is one of the only genres of music i actually find pleasing to listen to outside of the music i play on a daily basis.

Bands like Iron Maiden, Megadeth, etc pretty much make classical music with electric guitars. Maiden has the melodic aspect of classical music and Megadeth has the complexity.
