My pastor is a few months from finishing his career-capping sermon series on Romans, so this is well timed. If anyone has something new to say about Romans, I'd expect it to be Wright. I don't always agree with him, but he's almost always compelling and thoughtful. When you know so much about a subject it must be hard knowing what to say or not. Surrounded by his peers, it's probably a lot easier. My mom has a habit of thinking through a topic and then writing (letters, emails) as if the reader had (almost) full access to all her thought process. I ask to edit the really important messages before they go out.

NTW is hands down my favorite. I read this one last month and you’re right, even his popular works require slower processing.

I’ll be devils advocate 😅 wasn’t it a little boring? Perhaps bc I’ve listened to NT wright for a while now. It seems like it boils down to Jesus ushered in the kingdom and it’s on us to take up our cross and participate in the kingdom.

Maybe i missed something but that seems to be the point drawn out in a book about a chapter of 1 letter of Paul’s 😂

Appreciate the video!

Yeah! NT Wright! Hey Joel have you read Apocalypse by Pablo Richard? He’s a liberation theologian who wrote a people’s commentary of Revelation. It’s one of my Christmas presents this year and I’m dying to read it.
