LOTR: This move took MONTHS to master – Did You Notice it?

Eomer's spear flip during the Rohirrim Charge is a small but impressive moment. Karl Urban, who played Eomer, spent months perfecting the move. He rehearsed flicking the spear into the air without looking, catching it, and transitioning it from a riding to a throwing position. This dedication shows the effort the cast put into their roles, with many of them going the extra mile to bring their characters to life. The cameraman thankfully caught this moment, showcasing Urban's commitment to the scene.

He also does the sick spear flip right before he throws it at that elephant driver, bringing down the whole elephant which crashes into the other elephant

I find that the behind the scenes on the original dvd appendices are just as entertaining as the movies themselves. The amount of time and effort that went into making these movies is amazing.

I noticed “the flick” the first time I saw it. Wow! Utter perfection!! 😮

This is why these films are perfection. You can watch them dozens of times (guilty) and still not catch everything

For 20 odd years I always thought it was kinda rude of him to steal the spear from the rider next to him 😂 glad to finally understand I was an idiot haha

I honestly thought it was a mistake for years. Now that I know that’s super cool

I showed this to my friend and he decided to try it on his horse (he has a ranch) and took a big metal stick, closest we could find to a spear, and tried it.

The bastard got it first try without looking at it. Wasn't THAT clean but still, some people are just built different. I'm still mad about it lmao

Despite this, his sword still fell out of his scabbard...

I always thought that was a mistake, I thought that someone outside the camera was handing him the spear

Just yesterday my dad and I went to this really cool place and forged knives out of railroad spikes, about 3 hours of work. I can’t imagine how long the main cast’s weapons took

For the longest time i thought it was a crew member off screen handing it to him and he was simply grabbing it. Never knew he was flicking it up himself!
