I Found the Ultimate Audio Interface for iPad & iPhone

What do YOU look for in an Audio Interface?

Multiple input options? 48v Phantom Power? Portability? Durability? Excellent sound quality? A reasonable price tag?

There are loads of audio interfaces on the market right now that do most of all that, but I think i’ve found ONE that not only does all of that, but quite a bit more too...

Check out the Audient Evo 4 here

I wish we knew the round trip latency for interfaces going into iPad and iPhone overall great review I agree this is a very nice interface especially for the price

Nice review. I have the EVO 8 and use it with my 2018 iPad Pro. It works very well with one mic and doesn’t drain the iPad battery very much at all. I have even recorded drums using 3 mics and even tho you can see the battery drain a little more, if u start at full, you can still get through a couple hours. The smart gain works as advertised and overall the unit is excellent. The Evo 8 is probably the best combination of performance and value for a 4 in 4 out interface. The only problem with the 8 is that it doesn’t come with the Cubasis Le software bundle.

Wow. At that price point that’s absolutely fascinating dude. There are so many interfaces to choose from it gets a bit dull checking them out but this one stands out. Also, the bundle - for that price, wow!

Great review, Patrick. I have the EVO 8 and wonder about the loopback function with the Mac. More precisely, how to set it up and stream using GB or Logic for effects. Maybe an idea for a future vid?

I highly enjoy your channel. This interface sounds like the bee’s knees and the wasp’s elbows. I want one now!

I did a ton of research before i bought mine. Needed to get versed in MIDI and interfaces, usb hubs.. lol. Yea I’ve had mine for almost 3 years now. Been doin the iOS music production for a bit now. I utilize the hell out of the lovely and free GarageBand, and plug just about anything into it. Mainly BiasFX 2 mobile, and Pete Johns has been my go to guy for iOS music production ever since. Of course your video would hit my feed 😂. I liked and followed, buddy!

I digress.. I run this through a PA system and crank it to play with live bands. If i wanna record, i will use my headphones first.

I'd love to see a comparison between this Evo 4 and the iRig Pro I/O Duo (or the single input). In fact, I'd love a comparison with any interfaces claiming to support iOS devices.

The Evo 4 looks like an amazing option. Lots of people don't own computers or want to be able to play/record with a mobile phone on the go or at gigs. Nobody that I've seen has ever made a video telling people which devices are truly iOS compliant beyond the iRig models -- and I've said surely there must be other interfaced that don't require a PC (though supporting both PC/Mac computers and iOS/Android mobile devices is a huge plus in case someone ever gets a new type of device).

Can you try to find as many iOS interfaces as possible, compare them all with sound samples and features, and help people decide which is best for their needs? Like making an ultimate video guide for iOS interfaces? That would be extremely helpful.

Thanks for making me aware of the Evo 4. The bundled items sound much better than the items you compared to, which is a huge deal. Higher price point doesn't always mean it's better.

To my ears the evo 4 sounds great with everything . Another piece of equipment added to my shopping list.

Are you suggesting the EVO4 solves the problems that the Amazon Anker adapter you discussed in your other video helped with avoiding lugging around the usual audio interface? Thanks... Tom

I’ve been using a Schiit Fulla 3 for my M1 iPad Pro 12.9” + magic keyboard for about 6 months. Speakers are a pair of iLoud Micro Monitors. I’m not a music or video producer, so this setup works great for streaming videos and music. Excellent video, mate!

I have an iPad Pro (with Bias FX2 installed), I would like to connect my iPad and Guitar to the Evo 4 and connect the Evo 4 to my Roland Cube Street EX amp.

Is this possible or would I need additional hardware to make this work. I intend to use this setup to play live gigs with our small group (we play mainly charity events).

Looking forward to your comments.

Best Regards

Thanks so much for this info. I’ve been putting together a mobile set-up and have been looking for an audio interface. Just got my EVO 4 and did a test and it worked great. I plan to use it with my Hydrasynth Explorer, Deluge (both can be battery powered) and my iPad Pro. I also tested using it with the camera connection kit and will be able to use that to connect the EVO 4 to my iPad and keep the iPad charging when AC power is available.

Hey! I love your channel and was wondering if you could help me with an interface problem. Whenever I record my DSM Simplifier into my iPad with an irig there is a crackling noise every second. But it's not there when I plug the Simplifier to an amp or headphones and it's baffling me so much...

IMHO Audient over-specced the EVO series, the sound quality is just amazing at any price points

Can you record two tracks at once using the evo4 on the iPad?
