The man is awesome. He called me at my house for some artwork i did of him. He deserves a movie based on his life.

Those of us who grew up in those days of the 1960s remember his music well.

I AM 73 YEARS OLD NOW BUT I REMEMBER LISTENING TO " RUN AROUND SUE AND THE WANDERER" ON THE JUKE BOX IN THE BOWLING ALLEY IN THE EARLY SIXTIES AS A YOUNG BOY! "ABRAHAM, MARTIN, AND JOHN" IN 1969 AS A HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE, I SAW HIM IN CENTRAL PARK AT A FREE CONCERT IN THE LATE 1970'S WHEN AT THE END OF THE SHOW HE SAID TO THE AUDIENCE " THANK YOU FOR LOVING ME WHEN I COULD NOT LOVE MYSELF" MOST RECENTLY I LOVED HIS REMAKE OF THE SONG "BORN TO BE WITH YOU"THANK YOU FATHER GOD FOR SAVING DION DI MUCCI FROM DRUGS AND FOR BLESSING HIM WITH FAITH AND SPIRITUAL GROWTH!

Thanks Dion! I'm 65 & the first song I learned the words to was the "Wanderer" somehow it gave me an attitude to go on. Later I too became an I.V. drug user & after my 3rd incarceration I started reading the Bible & I woke up, took responsibility for my actions. I've been sober with the help of Jesus 10 years but not me, He who lives in me! I love you brother & God Bless!

I’m 75, and growing up in the 50’s and 60’s, great music! Many Singers/Groups were of Italian decent or Black Americans. The best!

I remember listening in the fall of 1961 to Dion's music on KNUZ in Houston. Dion was supposed to have been a passenger on the little airplane with Buddy Holly and other musicians who were killed in that plane crash. Instead, he had decided to go by car. That helped to set him thinking about what really mattered.
In the 1980s Dion came up to me and introduced himself after a Sunday morning service at North Dade Church of God in Miami. His daughter was studying music at our church college, Warner Southern, in Lake Wales.
Thanks for sharing this.

I've been a huge fan of Dion's since 1961. I was 11 and he took my young heart. He sang such great songs. Luckily he had a strong wife who stood by him and helped him beat his addiction. I have his autobiography. My favorite later "album"/cassette in the late 80's was Yo Frankie. God bless him. Wonderful man, besides the Wanderer.
