OMGosh - You just saved me a hundred hours worth of work and my sanity. I've downloaded a ton of editors (just to trim videos) and they take forever. This trims an 1.5 hours video in seconds. I wonder why in all my research, this never came up before. THANK so much P.S. Never understood why it had to be re-encoded just to trim.

Avidemux can also clean up inconsistencies in the input file. The MOV files created by Avermedia 2 plus (capture device) cannot be edited by Corel VideoStudio. After Avidemux cleans up the file, you can save it to a correctly configured MOV or MKV file. My workflow includes using Avidemux to delete unwanted sections of the video before handing the production to the more bloated (and expensive) video editors, some of which are notorious for crashing.

Hi, what if I want to cut the certain part from the video and the keep the first and the last part. When I am deleting the middle part and save it says that the cutting part will be corrupted and finally the video playback freezes for a sec when coming to the cutting point. Can you explain how to fix that?

Thank you for this video. I'm new at editing with Avidemux.... When I select the portions I want to cut, I have sound, but when I view the part I've cut out, there's no sound. What am I doing wrong?
