For those who do not know, here's a tip.  Many people have water wells.  Many of those wells have bad iron.  There are filtration systems called green sand filters.  They have to regenerate from time to time in order to flush out the iron.  The vast majority of those systems use Pot. Perm. from a small drum as a regenerate solution.  Places like Southern States can carry small jugs of this.  If not, then feel free to contact a water treatment person from the yellow pages.  They can get it for you.  In addition, this form will most likely be a powder in a jug.  The powder will light up much faster than the granules.  1 - 2 seconds rather than 20 seconds, so be aware of that.  Great video.  Keep up the good work!

This is a good video, definitely use these things in emergency situations only, i have my own emergency chemical fire starter, i cut sections off of old bicycle tubes then light a small piece on fire, and it will burn for up to 5 minutes consistently with no flame interruptions... We've used it a couple times in extremely wet weather. Anyhow good video! Thanks for sharing!

I'm diggin the intro, it shows that you've invested into the overall production quality and effort put into these videos. Keep 'em comin please, you can never have enough prepping and survival-related knowledge imo.

Good video. You should do a little series on potassium permanganate and all it can do. I carry some mainly for extreme emergency water treatment. You can treat A LOT of water with with a tiny amount.

You got much better results than I did buddy, I have some but had problems due to cold ambient temps. Maybe I should try and again. I still have it in my kit for sterilisation use etc but would  be cool for it to be able to use it for the reason I originally got it lol.
Great video, thank you :)

This channel is one of the most well rounded out there. Great job. Although this technique is well known it definitely deserves a short video like you have posted. Were all trained in many ways to make fire, but I have been wanted to go to a supermarket and find chemicals that can start fires for a while but didnt know where to start for information. Maybe a series of these vidoes is in order?

That is definitely impressive. I agree should be only used in very serious and life threatening situations. Don't think I need to be practicing this one:0) but love that thisnis a multiuse item!

Good video - thanks. I have this as one of my go-to ignition sources (British so figures!) - as a point of note, if you don't get the reaction despite waiting, I have found a little spit mixed into the Glycerol seems to help move things along - not sure why, perhaps it is linked to humidity or ambient temperature but for me it has seems to work :)

The glycerin is also good for diarrhea and *everyone* going into the wilderness for an extended time should be carrying something for diarrhea (and a packet or 2 of water additive with electrolytes). They take up very little space and don't even weigh an ounce combined, but both could be the difference between a speedy recovery and misery ...or worse.

Potassium Permanganate is a restricted chemical in the UK, because insurgency-terror-timey-wimey nonsense. Tried to source some for a vid a while back and came up  blank. Can be obtained here through the internet, but likely adds MI6 to your subscriber list and the pricing is ambitious in a lot of cases.

Will it be useful in a wet scenario.  Like snow or rain.

This was on the last episode of Dual Survival. They used e-cigarette juice since it carries glycerol as well.

Would it be safe to cook food on top of this fire in a survival situation of course.
