AMAZING Alder Lake Z690 Non-K OC - Intel Core i3 12300 Overclocked to 5.35GHz on Z690 DARK KINGPIN

The Non-K Overclocking has been a very hot topic recently around the Z690/LGA1700 platform, as it offers a wide range of very affordable CPUs to be used even in performance oriented gaming PCs. The biggest limiting factor is the cost of motherboards and DDR5 memory compared to the actual processors.

The required feature in order to go beyond the nominal 103.0MHz BCLK limit is external clock generator on the motherboard, and it is usually present only on more high-end motherboards, so no one is going to buy let's say a 500 euro motherboard just for a locked Core i3 12100F or G7400.

To be even a realistic option, you would have to find an affordable motherboard that supports this feature, somewhere in the 50-200 euro price range. The locked 6-Core CPUs are probably the most realistic options from these CPUs, but even so the 12600K and 12600KF start to be very close in the price already.

In my testing I was able to push the Core i3 12300 to 5.35-5.375GHz in Cinebench R20, and even a whopping high frequency in AVX512 based workloads if you watch until the end. The AVX512 support is probably one of the main excitements of these affordable CPUs as AVX512 is considered a very premium feature, usually restricted to high-end workstation CPUs only.

Hello Luumi, how about using PL2 to limit the max power consumption of the CPU under avx loads? In the past, when the negative avx offset was not a thing, I've overclocked the CPU for non-avx loads and set the power limit as tight as possible to not throttle under those conditions. If I put an avx load, the CPU would automatically throttle 2 or 3x and stay stable.
Regarding the avx512 power consumption, buildzoid had the same results as you: avx512 uses less power than avx2/avx

The F in the i3-12300F means no i-gpu in the chip. Also, I guess we won't have to worry about avx-512 much longer because intel instructed the MB manufacturers to remove this feature with bios updates. Then Intel went one step further and is actually going to physically fuse out the avx-512 within the chips going forward. I find this a lame move especially since the chips that don't have e-cores need not worry about incompatibility. I really need avx-512 when using the RPCS3 PS3 emulator because it gives up to 20% better performance.

this CPU is perfect. After very strong 4C/8T Skylake/Kabylake era and after Ryzen 3 5300G is next new very strong quadcore with HT. Still very good also for most users (able to get solid gaming FPS in modern games)

Nice cpu, my 12100F need 1.5v for 5.4ghz r20, and 5.3ghz 1.4v prime95 avx512. I think our cpu is around same quality.

Im never seen, an overclocked processor revealed the ghz but never seen it play games or something and also the benchmark. Hope someone give me videos that include gametest and benchmark and other tests.
