Hello friends!
Today I wanted to do more of a chatty video where I share some of my favorite books to read during autumn. I love recommending books that I think you'll like, but this time I wanted to share my absolute personal favorites. These are books that make me feel fall to my core. I know this video is a bit of a different style than usual, but I just wanted to spend a relaxing evening chatting about fall books and enjoying a nice warm cup of tea 🧡

Hi Darling Desi. I know for a fact that your aesthetics are unique. It’s cool to see your background looking like something out of a vintage bookstore. I hope you continue to do well with making content. Best of luck.

I would loveeee to hear your book recommendations for those of us who like to embrace the autumn season itself, but aren’t into anything scary or Halloween related. Just all the coziness, nature, and the comfort of fall. ☕️🍂🍁

Yes! I've read the entire Practical Magic series! I still have all my old Nancy Drew books ( I'm 53). Ahh....Autumn vibes!

I recommended this under your last video aswell but I'm gonna recommend it again in case anyone's interested: Prose and Cons by Amanda Flower is a really lovely cozy murder mystery set in autumn, with a magical tree in a bookshop, a cat, a crow and a bookclub hosting an Edgar Allan Poe reading. it's really lovely!
edit: someone just pointed out to me that it's actually part of a series (and the 2nd one at that) which I had no idea cause it reads like a standalone but I guess it's probably best to start at Crime and Poetry. (which I'm gonna read as soon as I can get my hands on it)

Hello Desi, I was so happy when I saw you posted a new video! September is a lovely time but at the same time, school starts and as a new teacher, it makes me anxious. That's why i love your videos, they calm me down and remind me, that there are so many things to appreciate during this wonderful season!🍂

Thank you for sharing! I wanted to mention that A discovery of witches was made into a small series on Sundance now. They did a wonderful job of matching the feeling and story to the books. The actors are all amazing and it’s a great fall watch!!

Hi Desi! I am once again recommending the Lockwood & co books because they are so perfect for fall and I'm hoping that at least one person sees this comment and takes me up on this. Middle grade, set in London, with a group of young teenagers who run a company called Lockwood and Co that takes care of ghosts and supernatural phenomena that are plaguing the citizens of London. The first book (The Screaming Staircase) is set in fall, and it's soo spooky but also cosy, with descriptions of all the food they eat between cases, and the fun tumble-down house where they live. I think it's super underrated and I want to see more people read it!

Frankenstein is such a great choice! I know you can get a lot done with audiobooks, but sometimes I tune out and miss a lot. Personally, I like hearing the characters develop a voice as I read. The words disappear and it's like I'm there watching it all unfold.
