Τί είναι το Μουσικό εργαστήρι Λαβύρινθος;

Το Μουσικό Εργαστήρι Λαβύρινθος ιδρύθηκε το 1982 από τον Ross Daly (Καλλιτεχνικός διευθυντής Μ.Ε.Λ.) με σκοπό την μύηση των νέων, κυρίως, ανθρώπων σε μια δημιουργική προσέγγιση στα παραδοσιακά μουσικά ιδιώματα από διάφορα μέρη του κόσμου. Αποτελεί σημείο συνάντησης για μουσικούς και σπουδαστές καθώς επίσης αναγνωρίζεται ευρέως ως ηγέτιδα δύναμη στον τομέα της εκπαίδευσης, στο πεδίο της τροπικής και γενικότερα της παραδοσιακής μουσικής.

Στο συγκεκριμένο σεμινάριο θα παρουσιαστεί το κύριο μουσικό ρεπερτόριο του 13ου και 14ου αιώνα, με σκοπό να δώσει στους μαθητές τα απαραίτητα θεωρητικά και πρακτικά εφόδια σε ότι αφορά στην ιστορικά ενημερωμένη απόδοση της ευρωπαϊκής μεσαιωνικής μουσικής.

Το ρεπερτόριο θα περιλαμβάνει μονοφωνικά και πολυφωνικά τραγούδια λειτουργικής και παρα-λειτουργικής προέλευσης από Ιβηρικά και Ιταλικά χειρόγραφα του 13ου αιώνα και παραδείγματα από την αστική μουσική γαλλικών και ιταλικών ρεπερτορίων της Ars Nova (14ου αιώνα).
 
Ιδιαίτερη έμφαση θα δοθεί στη μελέτη συνθετικών δομών, καθώς και στις ενδείξεις αυτοσχεδιαστικής πρακτικής, με σκοπό να ενδυναμωθεί μια προσέγγυση που σέβεται τον ‘κώδικα’ αυτών των μουσικών γλωσσών ενώ ταυτόχρονα είναι δημιουργική.
Το σεμινάριο θα χωριστεί σε δύο γκρουπ ( φωνητικό και οργανικό) τα οποία θα ενώνονται στα απογευματινά μαθήματα σε ένα.

What is Musical Workshop Labyrinth?

Labyrinth Musical Workshop was founded in 1982 by Ross Daly (the Artistic Director of MWL), with the goal of initiating young people, primarily, into a creative approach to traditional musical idioms from various parts of the world. It is a meeting point for musicians and students and it is widely recognized as a leading force with respect to education, in the field of modal and traditional music in general.

The seminar will present an overview of the main musical repertoires of the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, in order to provide participants the necessary theoretical and practical tools for a historically informed interpretation of European medieval music.

The repertoire will include monophonic and polyphonic songs of liturgical and para-liturgical origin from Iberian and Italian XIII century manuscripts and examples of secular music from French and Italian Ars Nova repertoires (XIV cen.)

Particular emphasis will be given to the study of formal and compositional aspects and the evidences of improvisational practices, in order to stimulate an approach at the same time creative and respectful of the “grammar” of these musical languages.

The seminar will be divided into two groups (vocal and instrumental) which will be reunited in the afternoon sessions to work together.
