In today’s episode, we are going to discuss “WHAT IS SUPPLY PLANNING?”

This is all part of our Learning Logistics series where we discuss the basic Supply Chain and Logistics concepts. I covered the definition of logistics and demand planning in earlier episodes, so feel free to go back to those for a quick recap. In this episode we will discuss supply planning, which goes hand in hand with demand planning.

Supply planning is the component of supply chain management involved with determining how to best fulfill the requirements created from the demand plan. The objective is to balance supply and demand in a manner that achieves the financial and service objectives of an organization. It’s a component of Supply and Operations Planning (S&OP) process. It also includes some of the financial and business goals of the organization.

3:36 - all great points. Another thing to add to the bucket could be ‘Last Time Buy (LTB)’. This is also a part of Supply Planning. In electronics/semi-conductor industry, LTB is very common because of shorter life cycles of products :)

Here's a tip. Review the transcript before you post. IMO your voice was so low that the transcript is often difficult to understand as the words are not correct. I decided to check the transcript out but that ended up being tedious to try and figure out how to correct for the actual content.
