At some point everyone loved going to town on the clarity slider 😂

Me: oh wow that fade looks dope!
Evan: this fade is not doing anything good for us.
Me: ew that fade sucks

I stopped using Clarity when they introduced the "Texture" slider. It's more subtle and much more effective in my opinion. I find most people, and I am guilty of this at times, is over saturating an image. I have been going for a more film like look lately. Nice video. Keep up the good work.

My dilemma is trying to find my own aesthetic... the obsession with presets and having individual styles has led me down a path where I feel I need all of my photos to look the same. Really struggling to make that happen while keeping my photos clean and natural.

Evan, you are SUCH a legend man. Your photography videos are rare pieces of straight GOLD. You touch on some serious pain points that so many people struggle with, and don't just use click bait titles to then talk about basic stuff that everyone can figure out themselves..

cleaning up photos like at 2:51 is SOOO much faster if you go into PS and use the spot healing brush. Way less laggy.

Tip number one is the best take away. For me personally removing the distractions in the photo before I start getting creative adds so much more value to the photo. Thanks so much!

Mind blown at the sharpening mask. I'm new to light room and photos in general, I picked it up for a quarantine hobby, but that's the first time I've seen it :) thanks man. Subbed!

Your running theme seems to be ‘keep it natural’. I totally agree; and keep as minimal editing as I can get away with; yet still making it clean!
Great tutorial!

I cant see the color gap thing he mentioned. I can tell the photos different but i can't see what the "gap" is... Anyone?

I love the way you teach! Thank you for this video. My favorite tip was to use mask for sharpening. Never touched that slider before lol.

Really appreciate this video. Retouching small details like the first example is something I did way back when I started photography. Somehow I forgot the huge difference something like that can make. This video reminded me to continue sharpening my blade.

Thanks for that sharpening tip! I didn’t know what that “mask” did for the longest time 😂

I am guilty of using too much fade. This video came at a good time! Love your content!
