WHAT a mesmerising, enchanting tune employed by the legend Anu Malik! This tune initially reminded me of a GAMING track like SONIC the HEDGEHOG! 90s kids will attest to that! I like the dramatic intro and how the tune jumps out on you with its killer, enticing beats! RHYTHM here is unreal and has a surreal experience 4 the listener! This tune is difficult for an intense, romantic DUET to happen but Udit + Alka are in top form here as they have done a brilliant job at crooning here! One thing I greatly admire about Anu Malik(before 1997) is the use of various lyricists as he want against the norm of music director-lyricist teams so in a way he was a PIONEER as he went against the grain! Anu did not have Anand Bakshi/Majrooh Sultanpuri regularly like Laxmi-Pyare and RD Burman had or Sameer like his main competition Nadeem-Shravan! After 1997, he worked a lot with legend Sameer but he could not recreate the magic that he did with Nadeem-Shravan, Anand-Milind for some reason assome of the songs were mundane and repetitive because Anu was overworked after the murder of Gulshan Kumar in 1997 as Nadeem-Shravan were seperated from being together in the studio. Mahesh Bhatt was a GENIUS who got them together back for Kasoor(2000). There is something enticing about Ramya Krishnan as a seductive vamp like Khalnayak(1993) also! She is quite the versatile all-rounder as most heroines were in good avatar but this lady could do it all as she was not the typical, mainstream actress like her contempories! She deserved more in BOLLYWOOD but gr8 to see her get he success her talents richly deserved!She is stunning in her prime here so SRK was lucky he had a romantic movie with Pooja Bhatt and Ramya who were many young, teenage boys crush at that time! Nida Fali did magic putting random words for Alka's 1st verse which Anand Bakshi copied this technique for GUPT which came later than this movie! Mahesh Bhatt is a creative genius and was at his musical zenith with composers of the ilk of Anu Malik, Nadeem-Shravan, Jatin-Lalit and Rajesh Roshan as he somehow extracted the BEST from them in his projects-no wonder why he had the musical soundtracks which were HITS and his movie got profits regardless og BOX OFFICE success or failure! Easily the best business mind in BOLLYWOOD as Karan Johar just got SRK when he was a STAR at his pomp which takes no imagination! Yeh GAANA bura kabhi bhi nahin lagta nahin lagta nahin lagta!
