This is a follow up video of my video on Picture in Picture video. One of my viewers asked if a diagonal cut could be done to show to separate shots...so here it is. Mostly geared for beginners, but hopefully advanced users will enjoy.

music used are free clips from YouTube free audio.

Thank you SO much for doing this!!! Split Screen is covered in the Manuals, but it means something else there. You did exactly what I asked! Yup, there's a 'however' coming! I wasn't very clear or precise in my question. I'm looking to make about a 10-degree vertical line in the screen center. I do not want you to re-do this video, but the new line brings up a new question. If my two sources originally fill the frame, and I split the screen with a 10-degree vertical line, can I then re-position each of the sources? (This does not come up if I make a "True" diagonal -- as your response did. PLEASE answer with yes, or no, and don't go through making a whole other video!)

I had always done my vertical split screens so tediously. I'm so happy I randomly decided to look up how to do a diagonal split and found your video! Very well explained and easy to follow~

Awh thanks man!
Only when I searched 'davinci diagonal crop' did your great Color tab tip get recommended.
'custom crop' or 'manual shape mask' or 'pip shape' gave long-winded Fusion tab techniques.

VERY clear tutorial, and I appreciate your measured pace. You are perhaps a natural teacher, which I will never be, it is a great gift. Thank-you! I subscribed.

Rather than use a colour for the separator can you use a blur effect so they sort of blend into each other?

It confuses me why Blackmagic decided to put that feature in the color tab

Thanks for the video! Sadly when you crop from editing tab and apply softness, the polygon overrides previous softness and adds rounded corners to the clip. But nevertheless thanks for the tip. I miss premiere for having pretty easy diagonal cropping effect. On the second thought the smoothness that Davinci provides while editing is uncomperable. Hopefully they add diagonal cropping function in the future)

I need to split screen at an angle too, but as the orignal question asker indicated ... I need to be able to reposition the underlying clips and if I do so, after I make the masks, the mask moves with my clip repositioning... which I don't want. How can I do the split screen(s) and still be able to reposition the clips within the masks? without moving the masks with them? Is there no way to just diagonally crop a clip? If so, problem solved. Thank you :)

I'm looking for a way to do something similar, only with more than two clips. 10 would be nice, also free forms/shapes. How could this be achieved? Any help is appreciated. Thanks, cheers, K

Thanks for this great video!
Now I kinda understand how to split the screen into 3 separate screen areas for example and have individual clips playing within those. But how would I be able to zoom in and out within the individual “screen slices”? (Also changing position of the content of the individual clips etc.) Is there a easy way to do that?
