Great video and thanks for the review. Good point about having an integrated red LED and it was an option I considered. However for military use when operational in enemy territory you do not want an accidental splash of white light that can give away your position. With the filter being attached you are positive to not accidentally actuate the white light. Also not having to cycle through white light modes in enemy territory. A lot of unit SOPs require red dedicated filtered lights.

I love this flashlight, it’s great they made it shorter. Also how you showed how tough it was . Thanks. Tony

I have all versions as well, and I love them all. Love that is starts off in High mode, and you work backwards to Medium, then Low. Easy index 1 button strobe is phenominal. I do have some ideas on v.4 flashlight. 1.) An optional super deep pocket clip, that clips into the same groove in the body. 2.) Not only a red LED, but also a UV LED (seperate button on front, where the old mode switch was, that switches strictly between red/UV maybe?). If you wanna make this thing cover all "tactical" avenues, and you mark maps in UV ink, that's a layer of protection from prying eyes. Just a thought. 3.) Return the mode switch button to a solid one, and not rubber, and raise it a little, so it'll be faster to feel in the dark.

Those 3 changes aside, l noticed the front lens area gets REALLY hot if you are rocking this on High for more than 3 minutes. But other than that, it is my new EDC light, and it kicks ass! $50 might be too expensive for some people though.

I knew the flashlight would do well. I use the V2 on duty and it handles well. I like the idea of a red LED added instead of placing and removing a colored filter. A red & green led would be great in military exercises.

I agree with the red lens. Maybe like a swivel so when you turn it, instead of it focusing in and out, it goes red 😆

A great, dependable light worthy to be included in anyone's EDC or Bug Out bag. Excellent review, Chris!

I notice it has a red lens for night visions. I would recommend a green lens for map reading.

So there's just one Teensy Tiny Itsy Bitsy little problem with the WOWTAC lights. They are TOO Good! Seriously. I bought an Atactical( prior name of WOWTAC) A1S for my EDC light. Then they came out with the A2 Headlamp. I put the A1S on the Nightstand, took off its Belt Clip and put it on the A2. The Head Strap went into my Canadian Prepper Bugout Roll, and the A2 goes into my Left Shirt Pocket. Every day. Like Clean Socks, Underwear, Wallet, Glasses, Lighter, Multi Tool every day. And I really mean EVERY FREAKING DAY! I have to wear a Suit this weekend. It WILL be in the Jacket. But the Damn Things won't Break, Die, hardly need Recharged and have been through several Power Outages. And they keep going. So how can I justify getting THIS new WOWTAC? I CAN'T! BECAUSE MY OLD ONES ARE JUST TO GOOD! HELP ME CHRIS! BECAUSE I REALLY WANT THE NEW BSS, BUT HOW CAN I GET IT W/O THROWING OUT THE OLD ONES? 😉😉😉😉😉

Chris great review. Just not sure where you got info that the power level dropped 100 lumens. Everywhere I look, still lists at 1150 lumens. I have all the versions and multiples of some. Great flashlights and will continue to recommend to friends.
