Omnisphere is the best software synth bar none! I have owned it for a little over a year now and I absolutely love the plug in. It is incredible! And this in tandem with my Roland fantom x7 synth really compliments one another really well!

D-50. Eric Persing programmed the D-50 factory sounds (and D-70, and JD-800). Eric Persing is now the brain behind Spectrasonics. I wouldn't put Korg in this eqution here. Wavestation was more of a Dave Smith brainchild.

Seriously, I hate fishing through billions of presets then to forget what i'm doing. I get good sounds and songs in my head but its easily "overwritten" if too much other sound keeps coming to interrupt it. I used to think a lot of presets were good. No, I was wrong.
