Love the old skool way of sampling. Finding the right loops is where its at to get the vibe going. A lot of 80s early 90s hip hop is like magic.

The crazy thing about it is the same colors that they use inside the video or on their album 🤯

Tip had the hardest drums out of any producer in the 90s. In addition to Tribe he had Crooklyn Dodgers beat, Nas One Love and World is Yours Remix

I love how you use the Tribe’s colors (yellow red and green) to highlight the clips

I remember getting the limited promo album for tower records. “Left my wallet in ES”…it was a green color album. Crazy dope experience from that point on. The production team, although Q did majority of the production, a lot of those records are timeless. Beats I’d put up against some of the top 10 ever…and that’s a lot of hiphop…lyrics, what can I say. The gold standard of being emcees Phife and Q were. Glad to have seen the dope transition over the decades! Rest in Paradise PDog! Salute to the whole ATCQ!

damn no wonder this track grooves so hard, each sample has percussion deep down any there for syncopation

You forgot Tribe sampling the bassline from the song “Don’t Walk Away” by Jade. I wonder how these things get missed by such a big corporate company like Tracklib since the bassline is so integral to Award Tour. The missing samples are too important. Great song either way.

So cool to hear how long he waited in the Weldon Irvine track to find the section he picked. Seems like a no-brainer to us in retrospect but there are plenty of dope parts before that so the patience tells me he actually listened to the whole song, likely the whole record

Amazing! Tribe are masters of sampling and even inspired the spark of genius that would become Mr Kanye West!!! 🙏🏻✌️👍😁🔥

Brooo whooo in the world thumbed this DOWN ?! LOOOLLLL

This is absolutely phenomenal and particularly valuable to those of us who grew up with this masterpiece of a song.

Award Tour is amongst the greatest and purest hiphop songs ever created.

God bless the Tribe
