Hi! I'm so stoked you found my page!

In this quick and beginner friendly tutorial video I demonstrate how you can setup an Iridescent effect in Unreal! This is super useful if you need to setup any sort of oil based elements in your game! If you have any questions, please comment below!

Screenshots of the material nodes are on my Artstation!

Node based programming to someone like me is like magic in a confusing way. I know it's supposed to be easy to experienced people, but dear lord to newcomers it's just space science. Literally hundreds of nodes, As and Bs going in going out in all directions, god knows, connected, intertwined. I actually had to google what sort node you use here and there such as ScalarParameter hehe. If not this tutorial I would be doomed. This is EXACTLY how I wanted the material to look like. You're my savior.

do you use this effect with optics on weapons? Especially if you add this effect and the effect that you did with tv, I'm talking about cubemap, it will probably work ... I think you do very interesting things, thx

Thank you for this tutorial! Managed to replicate it but I'm having a little problem:
When the material cycles Im having black patches. In my preview its correct but somehow in my scene these patches appear... any idea what it could be?
