If you have all those extra USB cords, don't throw them in the trash, Hospital patients who come through the emergency room will have their phone but no way to charge it. Check and see if your local hospital would use those cords for those patients.

Put on the free Facebook tag sales. Many people have nothing, so appreciate generosity of clothing, household items etc

I used to toss spices when I moved often. Now, When I open a spice I write the mo/yr on the bottom. I toss them every 4/5 years.

Hello Shea, I really like your suggestions and ideas ….. I’d just like to say that we should all consider the huge environmental effect of just chucking stuff out. There are often special recycling options available, such as pen/marker or cable cord/ electronic waste recycling if you look it up for your local area. Where i live, we can also recycle toothpaste tubes, toothbrushes, empty makeup products, etc…. Pillows should be protected with waterproof cases then they don’t need to be trashed because they will stay clean. Eventually they will wear down and flatten, but don’t throw them out just because they’re dirty. Many people would say to wash them instead. Glass jars from the pantry with expired contents should be emptied, rinsed and the glass recycled. Similarly with old cleaning products under the sink….empty them, rinse the bottle and recycle it. There is usually recycling info on the bottle. Such everyday products can usually go in your home recycling bins, more unusual products may need to be taken somewhere like a drop off place. I feel responsible for every thing I discard, I will never just chuck something in the bin unless i know it is not recyclable. Great to donate good quality items to charity stores too……thanks for the video I actually really enjoyed it and Happy New Year to everybody! From Australia 🇦🇺

I do not throw away old plastic containers, I just do not use them for food, I repurpose them. They are amazing for little things in the garage or somewhere else in the house. Plastic is so expensive these days, so I try to use them until they are completely broken.

I use unbleached parchment paper liners to use in my Air Fryer. I’m not ready to give up on mine yet!

I actually donate the Christmas or seasonal when I first pull it out, that way I’m hoping it gets more interest and a new home quicker 😊

I use old cellphones to play games on Wi-Fi, save music, audiobooks and movies to cast to the TV so I can keep my actual cellphone clean and organized with necessities. They come in handy during hurricane season and provide entertainment during power outages when preserving the battery on my cellphone for emergencies is critical.

Good reminder for me. It always feels good when high-traffic areas are organized. Saves me time and frustration in daily life.

don't know what the thrift stores in your area takes in - but ours in Canada (Value Village) take in everything clothes & household (cords mugs books small appliances and coathangers too). Just pass it forward. I also love to thrift. There is always someone who wants what you don't.

I went threw my dish towels and cloths just recently and moved them to the cleaning rag bucket.
I live in a tiny house and we don't have any storage. Its probably a good thing i don't have storage space.
The only items that takes up most space is the Christmas decorations. Ive been having to replace items. I believe i am finished replacing items. I finally found a perfect treetopper.
I enjoy this video each year. Now, to go through the pens. Thanks for throwing that one in.

Lots of these things can be donated and given away on buy nothing (cool way to give in the neighborhood that’s super convenient and lets you donate things like food or something you might not be able to take to the charity shop), composted, and recycled. Also just a reminder that most garbage companies have special ways to dispose of e waste and cords rather than the trash! ❤

I would like to add something to your list - plastic clothing. Detoxify your life by getting rid of all of the “fast fashion, ” clothing made from synthetic materials. I’ve been purging everything made with polyester, for example, and replacing them with quality items made from natural materials like cotton, hemp, silk, and wool. It feels so good to have less (not more) and to wear things I feel better about touching my skin. 😊

I declutter constantly so most of these items have been tackled within the last 3 months already. My next mission is my collection of jeans. I have far too many pairs but at least half of them don't fit.

Off the back of this, practice mindful purchasing across all areas. I started only buying things I actually use rather than things I think I might like to use.
