Transcript:
Oracle RAC has two important requirements to run in public clouds:
The first is having certain network capabilities, such as multicast.
The second is shared storage.

FlashGrid Cluster solves this with two components:

The first, FlashGrid Cloud Area Network, or C-LAN creates virtual networks between Amazon EC2 instances that provide multicast and other necessary network capabilities.

The second, FlashGrid Storage Fabric creates shared storage from the EBS volumes attached to individual EC2 instances.

FlashGrid C-LAN and Storage Fabric are installed on each of the EC2 instances used as Oracle RAC nodes.

Placing RAC nodes across multiple availability zones protects against data center failures and enables a database uptime SLA greater than four nines.

FlashGrid Launcher automates deployment using an Infrastructure-as-Code template.

The result is Oracle RAC running on AWS, with high availability and the performance expected from a mission-critical database.
