While Einstein developed the theory of relativity and changed the laws of physics, Tesla was the architect of the modern world with his innovative developments such as alternating current. Problem is, Einstein's general theory of relativity was so complex and difficult to understand that a physicist once said 'If Einstein didn't come up with his special theory of relativity, it's only a matter of time that someone else would've come up with a similar theory in a decade or so. But, if Einstein didn't come up with his general theory of relativity, we would still be waiting after 200 years.' This is extracted from Bill Bryson's 'A Short History of Nearly Everything'. Not taking anything away from Tesla because I'm not qualified to do so but, Einstein's views on Brownian motion, Photo electric effect and, his mindboggling insights into space-time are 'light-years' ahead. Think about the world that is so in awe with Newton's laws of gravity that Einstein was surrounded by and he comes up with a theory that suggests 'Gravity is merely a consequence of the distortion of space-time'.

Ok I am an Electrical Engineer and I idolize Tesla as an Engineer and a inventor but as a quantum physicists like Einstein was they are coming from two different directions. Now Tesla did have his own equation and was TL=mc^2 which still could be correct and a lot more is coming out that Einstein was incorrect on a lot in for they have proven Bohr was correct on electrons traveling faster then the speed of light and it took a long time but Physicist John Stewart Bell made this discovery in 1964. Bell's Theorem - more formally known as 'On the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen paradox' - demonstrated that Einstein's views on quantum mechanics - the behaviour of very small things like atoms and subatomic particles - were incorrect. There is so much more on this and people need to do there own due diligence to find out E=mc^2 is wrong or not complete.
