I watched about 10 of these covers today and imo this one nails it. From what I can see on the DVDs and interview videos this is accurate. Most people mess up the part at 1:40 pretty badly but this is how Martin plays it live for sure.

I TRULY believe this is the best cover of bleed out there. unlike others, your playing is very fluent and you dont look like your sturggling like every other person that covers the song. you got the technique down pretty well. great job bro!

If you ever are able to get to responding to me, I have a question.  This song is the only song I have ever played that makes the muscles in my picking hand lock up.  Any advice on how to prevent that?

The camera didnt record the fast chugs because it was moving too fast for the low frame rate, thats my guess.

@YoCrunchiness hang in there man. This is the first song I heard by meshuggah and I might have thought it was repetitive after a few listens but me needing to be able to play that foot pattern made me realize the technicality in the nuances of the song. The differencein theyre style of playing intrigues you to hear more, and if you listen enough youll just get it, and realize the precise use of the riff and the groove and youll b hooked.

Well it ads an extra two strings, giving you a further range of notes to play, instead of a guitar being E to E (EADGBE) in standard tuning, your guitar could be G to E( GBEADGBE) I'm not sure if this is how 8 strings are tuned but in theory thats what it does.

Yeah. I just like the look of the longer scale guitars too, these 27" look fat to me. Also Agile (through Rondo Music) sells a 30" 8 string for $900 I think. Pretty damn good for something that's very similar to the M8M, but about 2 grand cheaper.
