Review: Farberware Electric vs. Manual Can Opener

We bought the Farberware electric can opener and it's just awful! So this review is more of a warning. It works, but it's so slow! See just how slow in this review and side-by-side comparison.

I have this exact can opener and I love it. I know he said the batteries were new but The can opener sounded like it was dragging from the very beginning. Mine doesn't... Except when it needs new batteries.

Thanks for the reveiw. I am the cook for my house, we are all disabled seniors. I came to you tube to try to figure out how to get the batteries. My brother got it open and we put the batteries in. If it just takes awhile, that is fine, but if I cannot get the batteries in, not so good.

Well I'm not one that needs items opened very speedy....so if that's the only negative thing you have to say about this item...well consider it bought! Was thinking about purchasing this and ran across your video and you just confirmed my purchase! I'm going to purchase a major brand of batteries because those look like they were generic and dated!

I hated it at first too, but I've grown to think it's alright. First world "problem", but it just takes too long to open the can. The biggest issue with these electric can openers is that if a can is somehow bent, you're going to have a problem opening it with this thing.

I had bought one many years ago and I absolutely loved it. After I left my last girlfriend, she kept most of my stuff, so I purchased a second one from Walmart, but that one just wouldn't cut. So, I bought a third one, and again it wouldn't cut. In my experience, the updated versions are of worse quality.

Mine hasn't cut off one lid yet, it just spins around. I thought I had placed it incorrectly but no, that's not the case. Having arthritis makes cranking a manual opener difficult, but it usually gets the job done.

Doesn’t work. I end up having to use a knife, a fork and and a pair of pliers to get a can open. Waste of money

LMAO, at least do a fair review by inserting fresh batteries to show the full potential of the device, your batteries were near dead. That being said, the device is slower than other methods of opening a can but it definitely works a lot better and faster than your review suggests. Yes I do own one.

Not enough voltage. I have one which runs on 4 AA batteries - and that one runs fast. With this one you can also hear that it's at its limit. If you buy one: the one with 4 batteries. It's usually part red and part white.
