On Friday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau addressed the growing concerns over potential tariffs from the United States.

Trudeau stated that Canada stands prepared to enact a "purposeful, forceful, but reasonable immediate response" if the U.S. imposes tariffs.

"It's not what we want. But if he moves forward, we will also act," he said.

Highlighting Canada’s commitment to partnership, Trudeau noted the ongoing collaboration on border security with the new American administration. He reassured Canadians that the government is fully aware of the stakes involved, vowing to take action if the U.S. moves to impose tariffs. "We won't relent until tariffs are removed. And of course, everything is on the table."

"Our nation could be facing difficult times in the coming days and weeks. I know Canadians might be anxious and worried, but I want them to know the federal government and indeed all orders of government have their backs," Trudeau said.

Finally, Canadians are tackling inter-provincial commerce seriously.

this man is the problem. 10 years of bad decisions. Cap on emissions, carbon tax, and refusing to sell natural gas to Japan and Europe when they came to us. Too dependant on one customer.

Great time for the truckers to protest again.

I crossed the Canadian border from Michigan once. It was literally the safest and most secure border I've ever crossed, and I've traveled the world. The CIA has really crossed the line coming for our good neighbors. Please know that the CIA is not acting on behalf of most Americans. We are sorry.

I am a Canadian/America citizen. I will be spending ALL my travel dollars this year in CANADA, hope all Canadians are doing the same. So sorry our President is causing so many unnecessary issues/stress to my fellow Canadians. Stay strong.

I am not American nor Canadian. But there's a very high chance that countries will retaliate and join in trading effectively and consistently against American interests, that may give the US economy a major blow. I live in Brazil and many economists here states that our protectionist measures is what brakes my country from bigger developments. As a citizen, It's expensive a pain to import anything: specially things you'll need most such as car parts and other goods.

Sanctions agains Russia have forced (allowed) them to develop their own resources and capabilities. In like way - free trade among our own provinces can help to more quickly develop our own products and markets.

Why does it take this event to finally tackle inter-provincial trade? 🤔

We may only manufacture fentanyl at 1% but it’s coming from China and you are allowing the flow through Canada.. Canadians are not stupid and we definitely are not naive at this stage.

Europe charges VAT and tariff on all imports over USD$157. USA charges tariff only on imports valued over $USD800. The USA policy is not as strict as Euro. I think people just protest without reading the rules and regulations.

Here is the "stop buying" list I can think for our Canadians:

Boeing
GM, Tesla, Ford
Mcdonalds, KFC, Burger king, Starbucks
Microsoft, Xbox, Steam
Nike, The Northface, Columbia, Levis
Coca-cola, Pepsi
Disney+, Netflix, Facebook
Amazon and Kindle

Most of them are not necessary in our life and some of them are poisonous.
