I would like to comment that on this machine you have to stop the dial when making your shots. I time mine to about 30 second for the double shot and i like it that way. Good luck!!

I just bought a brand new one from a reseller.
Super satisfied with the espresso I make with it for it's price.
A little noisy but worth it.
Thank you for this video.

I just received my machine and after watching your video I’m confident I’ll be able to make a great latte. Thanks for your tutorial . ☕️

I had this machine in my hands this morning but I was in doubt if it would make a good coffee, that is, with foam. After watching your video, I liked the look of the coffee and ended up buying it. I've already tested it, the coffee comes out wonderful and the machine makes a lot less noise than my capsule machine of the same brand. The foam in the coffee and the noise were my concerns, and I am very satisfied! Thank you for your video that helped me to decide.

Just got this one and doing decent espresso shots already but ****ed up the milk frothing when I was going off the manual alone, so your video is a big help! Thank you.

I’m really impressed with my De'Longhi Stilosa! It is designed and constructed on a budget, but the qualities concerning fundamental operation of an espresso machine, and the experience of an espresso; the engineers took control, leaving the bureaucratic penny pinchers in the dust. I think it shows.

Because it doesn’t have a filter, I try to use distilled water in my Stilosa as much as possible to avoid mineral buildup.
Though, looking at the bottom of the removable water tank, I think there is a non replaceable particulate filter.

I love how your videos are naturally presented with these beautiful little "mistakes". Tx SCG!

Thank you for this review, after seeing it I decided to try the Stilosa and it totally changed our coffee reality. We've had high quality machines and grinders for 20 years (Silvia, Gaggia Classic etc) but I just got tired of wasting beans dialing in grinds and general inconsistency, plus the Gaggia Classic can require an awful lot of maintenance/rebuilding to deal with hard water deposits).

Anyway, the humble Stilosa with its little stainless steel boiler and pressurized portafilter works really well and produces very tasty espresso (sorry, coffee snobs, but it does). We blend the classic Costco green bag beans, which are a medium dark roast, about 50-50 with Lavazza pre-ground espresso coffee (the latter contains mostly Robusta, which deepens flavor). It takes all the guesswork out and gives us really good coffee very reliably.

You can spend a ton of money and make espresso your obsession (and I have done that). Or you can just have an easy high-quality no-frills coffee to start your day, just like the Italians, and this machine will do that.

FYI the mechanical pressurized portafilter on this machine is SO much better than the pinhole type designs from Gaggia and others. The latter clogs with coffee oils and has to be thrown away after about 1, 000 shots because it's impossible to clean it. The DeLonghi design is much longer lasting and can be disassembled and cleaned to keep it flowing.

I just picked up this machine and so far It's fantastic!
I love that you can do regular fine grind coffee as well as the espresso.

I just got this and its a pretty nice upgrade from using my Aeropress. The Instructions were not clear about this... When you first put water in it to flush the machine out its gonna take a few mins before the pump primes and water comes out. First thing you do after adding water is switch to the Brew/Water setting not the heat up setting. Then you wait a couple mins before the water even comes out.

Are the maintenance and cleaning required similar to performing a surgical procedure like Nepresso?

Does the green "ready" light go off and on while you are frothing? Mine does. Also, I like to steam my milk to 160 degrees, so there are times when the steam stops altogether or slows to a slightly audible hiss. I have to turn off the steam, wait a few seconds, then steam again. But, in doing this, I get water mixed with steam for a few seconds afterward. Sometimes the steam quits mid-frothing, sometimes not. I've experimented using a glass bowl to watch how the steam peforms, and it is inconsistent at best. Any input here? Also, there is a tiny indentation in the silver frothing sleeve about 1/4 inch from the top collar. Is this an air intake? If so, why is it sealed?

I’ve had this machine for about a year and I just found out you can remove the metal wand for the steamer and use it! I remove it often and clean but never steamed without it, I dislike foam in my lattes so definitely giving this a try!

My manual shows a part "A9" which is associated with the steamer. My box didn't include one. Can you let me know if this is an additional purchase? Thanks!

For the price, this machine is really difficult to beat
I found this at the local thrift store for $15 (of course I got it) and I made some delicious iced americanos, iced lattes, hot lattes, cappuccinos. Trial and error with the timing of the valve, also depends on the type of coffee you use. La Llave in the green can is absolutely delicious! I gave it away to a girlfriend a while back and am now looking at getting another one, but if you're on a budget, this is it. It is very comparable to getting a latte at Starbucks nowadays, those kids don't give a crap enough to make a decent latte, save your cash

Hi! I have both of the products in your video. Do you happen to remember the grind setting you used in the Capresso?

Coffee shot comes out too watery. Is it the grind? I have a burr grinder (Starbucks) which doesn’t have a number setting. Am thinking grind is too fine. Please advise. Thank you.
